Recently we lost a rapper known as Lil Peep who’s death was ruled out as drug over dose. Lil Peep, who’s real name is Gustav Åhr, is no newbie to drug use which can be seen on his personal Instagram, @lilpeep. He has multiple videos of himself laying on the ground unconscious and unresponsive due to him being extremely fucked up. In Lil Peep’s tattoo tour with Gentlemen’s Quarterly (GQ) he talks about how he had no idea of what happened when he got some of his face tats, he just woke up with them.
However, now we official confirmation on the exact cause of Lil Peep’s death via the Pima County Medical Examiner. Lil Peep overdosed on Fentanyl and Xanax. Fentanyl is an opioid that is over a 100 times stronger than morphine and heroin and Xanax is a medicine used to treat anxiety by mellowing you out. Lil Peep did not have any alcohol in his system, but there were traces of Marijuana, Cocaine, and Tramadol.
Rest in Peace Lil Peep, Novemeber 15th, 2017. Your influence was great and lets hope your passing has brought attention to this opioid crisis and been a wake up call to many people struggling with addiction.
