Police in Montana say a man (Adams), told friends he needed help moving out of his home and got their unknowingly help stealing $40,000 worth of items from another someone else’s home. The friends allegedly rented a U-Haul without knowing it would be used for a crime. Investigators say the true homeowner came home later that night, and called 911. Prosecutors charged Adams on Thursday with burglary and criminal mischief.
The Great Falls Tribune reports Adams faces up to 30 years in prison and $100,000 in fines.
